On Tuesday, December 18th, the Millburn Township Committee adopted Ordinance No. 2518-18, which establishes standards and limitations for conducting construction activity within the municipality. These regulations promote sanitary and safe construction sites, avoid adverse impacts on neighboring properties and residents, including from noise and dust, and provide for the health and safety of those residing in the Township.
These regulations address the use of power equipment and heavy equipment, hours of construction, requirements for dust and silt control, requiring fencing, requiring toilet facilities, limitations on the location of dumpsters, and requiring compliance with the current tree preservation ordinance in order to protect and promote the health, welfare and safety of the public.
The ordinance takes effect after publication on December 27th, 2018. Non-compliance with the ordinance may lead to the issuance of a stop work order, amongst other penalties.
