PSE&G Gas Main Replacement Project
PSE&G is completing a gas main replacement program in the South Mountain and Wyoming sections of Millburn in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
The project will replace aging cast iron pipes with durable plastic and/or coated steel piping to increase gas pressure and create a more resistant, efficient and reliable gas main. In addition, existing excess flow valves will be shut off and all customers in the work area will receive new valves. The project may include temporary gas shut offs for customers. PSE&G will provide additional information should the need arise.
This is a long-term project that is expected to begin in mid-October 2020 and continue through summer 2021 or later. Work is currently scheduled to take place Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. Please be advised that there is a potential for Saturday work during the project.
PSE&G will reach out directly to residents in the scheduled work areas with additional information and to coordinate home access to connect new service lines.
When PSE&G technicians need to coordinate access to your home to connect the service line and gas meter to the new main pipeline, they will contact the homeowner to arrange a date and time to do this work. On the day of your scheduled appointment, technicians will ask you a series of pandemic-related safety questions. During any in-home or on-property work, PSE&G technicians will wear personal protective equipment and maintain social distancing throughout the appointment. Please allow technicians access through the nearest entryway in proximity to the basement.
The Township will share periodic updates regarding the project, including road closure information. Questions or concerns about the project should be directed to PSE&G’s Gas Construction hotline at 1-833-661-6300 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
