Food Waste Recycling Pilot

The Township of Millburn, in conjunction with the Millburn Environmental Commission, is launching a six-month Food Waste Recycling pilot program!

Up to 55 households will be accepted into the program on a first come, first served basis per time of submission and certification of payment to the Township. Once the program reaches capacity, we will maintain a waitlist for additional interested participants.

Residents will pay a non-refundable fee of $50 to participate. You will receive additional information on how to complete payment upon submitting your interest form.

Working with Java's Compost, based in West Orange, participants will bring their food waste to the Millburn Town Yard, located behind the Department of Public Works building, where it will be collected weekly and brought to a composting site in Andover, NJ. Training will be provided to participants as part of the program.

If you are interested in joining the program, please submit your information at the following Google Form.

For any questions about the program, call our Recycling Coordinator at 973-564-7088, or send an e-mail to letusknow@millburntwp.org.

Please note that any residents already working with Java’s Compost will be ineligible for the program.
