UPDATE: July 7 Primary Election Vote-By Mail

May 22 Update:

As per Governor Murphy’s Executive Order 144, every registered Republican and Democratic voter will automatically be mailed a vote-by-mail ballot for the July 7th Primary Election. Unaffiliated/Undeclared voters will receive an application to request a vote-by-mail ballot.

 The July 7th Primary Election will be a primarily vote-by mail election, with a limited number of consolidated polling places. Polling places will only be providing provisional ballots and an allowance for ADA voters to vote by audio on a voting machine. Essex County now offers a fully accessible absentee ballot for voters with disabilities. April 8 Update:

Governor Murphy signed Executive Order No. 120, postponing the June 2 primary election to July 7, 2020.

  • JUNE 16, 2020 Voter Registration Deadline For Primary Election
  • JUNE 30, 2020 Deadline To Apply For A Mail-In Ballot By Mail For Primary Election
  • JULY 7, 2020 Primary Election Day
